Welcome To The Pennsbury Athletic Association

Welcome to The Pennsbury Athletic Association

The Pennsbury Athletic Association (PAA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization serving families throughout Lower Makefield Township, PA; Yardley Borough, PA; Morrisville Borough, PA and portions of Falls Township, PA with in-house, travel and tournament baseball and softball in the spring and fall for ages 5 - 18+.

Our goal is to provide a rewarding experience for our young baseball and softball players and their families both on and off the field.

Please visit this site often for news, calendar items, special member discounts, and other information.  We also invite you to join us on the official PAA Facebook page.

35th Pennsbury Invitational Tournament Wraps Up:

Over 2000 players, coaches, and college recruiters were on hand this past week at the annual Pennsbury Softball event.  Many of the 18U softball players from 128 teams across North America that attended this showcase tournament were able to display their skills in front of over two hundred Division I and II college coaches and recruiters.

Pennsbury's own 18U Gems Gold under Coach Les Venella and 18U Gems Black under Coach Chris Luise were able to enjoy the event in between Wednesday's Skill Competition, Pool Play Thursday through Saturday, and Elimination Bracket play Saturday afternoon and evening.

Eleven fields in Lower Makefield and another dozen between Newtown and Ewing NJ are employed for this unique event on the East Coast.  Play was cancelled for Sunday as overnight rains made fields unplayable.  "Though fields dried by the early afternoon - most of these teams had flights to catch at local airports, train reservations, or tour buses ready to go.

The real reason is exposure to the college recruiters - not a trophy." said coordinator Les Venella.  Planning has already begun for the 36th Annual Tournament.

7U Falcons

Let's give the boys of the 7U travel/developmental team a big high five !!! The program's first year team both competed intensely in every game and had fun along the way.The success of this new travel/developmental team has been attributed to the dedication of all the players, coaches, and families. The team finished their regular season with a record of 3-2-3. The team saw marked improvement for all the players, most notably the success of our kid pitching and the team averaging more than 8 runs per game. The boys seem to possess the characteristics needed to have a team grow and succeed together. Let's hope their positive experiences as a team continue.

Although the season has ended, the team has continued to practice together with hopes of competing in a summer tournament.

The 8U Heat team under Coach Frank Dragoni is looking forward to their taste of state competition the same week in Langhorne. This team of young players is primarily an all-star team of rising 8U players who have been identified through the in-house pro

8u Falcons!

Great job by the 8u Falcons!  The boys finished a very fun, competitive season in the Suburban Travel League with a 6-4 record and a bid to the playoffs!  Awesome job for their first season of travel play!

With the travel season completed, the District  and State Tournaments are heating up.  The boys will be opening up play in the District tournament this Friday against Valley Athletic Association, at the Valley Complex in Bensalem at 6:00.

Starting on July 10, PAA will be hosting the 8u State Championship Tournament at Stoddart!  The events open with a ceremony on Friday evening along with the skills competition, including a home run derby!  Games will start on Saturday and continue through Wednesday.  Our boys will be competing in this Tournament, so please come out to support the boys!

The 9U Falcons

The 9U Falcons just wrapped up the Philly Baseball Bash tournament last weekend with an 8-3 win over Levittown American. It was excellent preparation for the Ripken District 9U Tournament which will kick off this Friday at the Levittown American AA major field at 6:00pm.

The 9U Falcons feature outstanding pitching, scrappy defense and a small-ball offense that can drive opponents crazy. Our team has been practicing hard for six months and we are excited to compete against other excellent area teams for the right to represent our district in the state tournament in July.

Once we conclude District play, we will turn our attention to the North Wall Beach Bash IV tournament scheduled for July 17-19 in North Wall, NJ. This is a great tournament to conclude our season since our focus is baseball fun and some great family time at the beach

The 10U Heat team under coach John Evans, missing some key players due to injury and vacations, was still able to get it done and qualify for their State Tournament. "I was so proud, that despite being down to just ten players, we were able to hang tough

The 10A Travel Team completed the regular season with a run that saw them qualifying for the Suburban Playoffs and losing a tough game to Horsham 9-7. The team has been training hard and is prepared to start their district tournament at home at Stoddart t

Congrats to the 11U Falcons For a Second Place Finish in the Philly Bash Tournament! Great playing boys!

The 12U Heat team under Coach Bill Baldwin had exciting come-from-behind wins against Levittown American on its way to qualifying for the state event. "The girls put in lots of work throughout the year and especially after the in-house season concluded t

Our 12U Travel team qualified for states with a 12-8 win over Langhorne in the District Tournament, 2U team was a finalist in the District tournament last weekend and we qualified for states that will be held this weekend at the 21st Ward in Roxborough

We are currently working on organizing fall ball and the sandlot program and have much more to come regarding programming. The ratification of this slate will occur at our July meeting. If you are interested in any of the opening slots that are available on the baseball side, please contact Vice Commissioner of Baseball Rick Henn to discuss those opportunities with him.

There are a number of long time PAA board members who have opted to not return to the board in 2015-2016. To those members, thank you for your long term dedication and support of baseball and softball. We'll see you all at the July meeting.

NEW BATTING CAGES!

First we got new fields and then we got new sheds, we now need to build cages so our players can have a safe place to warm up their bats.

With about 800 kids playing ball this coming year, if each parent donates $25 each, we would be two thirds of the way to reaching our goal.

Each complex will have a cage centrally located so our players have access to a safe place to warm up.

Please donate now to help fund these batting cages!
